Portugal – Feasibility study – Study for the preparatory work to draw-up a Goal Based Standard document for domestic passenger ship built in light materials, incorporating emissions reductions technologies

The objective of this study is to conduct the preparatory work necessary for drafting a Goal Based Standard (GBS) Tiers structured document applicable to domestic passenger ships of 24 metres in length and above. This guidance will specifically address vessels built with light-weight materials such as aluminium alloys, glass-reinforced plastic (FRP), and wood. Furthermore, it will incorporate considerations for the emergence of novel alternative fuels and powering technologies, including, but not limited to, alternative fuels, fuel cells, and battery powered systems.
